Avery is getting so smart!
Avery's new love is the kitchen cupboards. We have not gotten the child protective gear for our kitchen yet, so we have to follow her around everywhere. I don't think she understands that there is anything in the actual cupboard she could play with, she just likes the door opening and closing!

Last Friday Christopher and I made homemade Oreo cookies. They tasted so good and were pretty easy to make too!
Avery is just getting cutier everyday!
BYU vs. UGA??? Avery has a hard decision to make! We taught her to make a cougar sound and now we need to teach her a bulldog sound. Then if byu and uga are ever to play each other in anything, Avery can make the sound of the team she wants to win!
If you want to hear her make the leopard/cougar sound you can hear it on the Blake family blog.
Avery just started laughing this funny laugh...there is no way to explain it, just listen!

Rex Lee Run
So I have to do a service project for my financial management class, and my professor announced this week that running the Rex Lee would count because the proceeds of the race go to BYU's cancer awareness group or something like that.
I have not run a 5K since my cross country days in high school. In fact, I can probably count on two hands the number of times I've actually run since then. Because Talmadge and I are doing a sprint triahlon this summer and a 5K is part of that race, I figured that running the Rex Lee would be a good gauge for how much I'm out of shape.
Here's how it panned out:
I finished the race in 22:02, averaging 7:06 a mile. This time is 4:20 slower than my fastest high school time of 17:42, averaging about 5:36 a mile.
Not so good.
Hannah tells me that it can only get better from here, which is probably true because I didn't train at all. My only regret is the boy, no older than 12 years, who passed me during the last 1/4 mile.
