Our Two Hours at the Zoo

Our visit to the zoo began with Avery's impression of a gorilla.

She and Maren then wanted to find out if they measured up.

When they weren't able to measure up by themselves, they decided that the two of them could measure up together. This is the first time we've ever seen them cooperate with each other.

If you haven't noticed yet, Avery wasn't having a very good time until...

the downpour began. She loved the rain and was happy the rest of the time we were there.

Although it only rained for 25 minutes, it was extremely cold, so we enjoyed watching the giraffes indoors.

Avery is always asked what cougars, lions, and leopards say, even by those at church. She was finally able to see those animals.

We came home and made honey-chipotle glazed ribs, and they were pretty much amazing.

maybe we should have stayed at the outdoor pool for swimming lessons if Avery likes the rain!
